Dental Bridges

If you have missing teeth, dental bridges may be the ideal procedure to help return your smile to its youthful beauty. Dental bridges are custom devices that replace one or more missing teeth. When a lost tooth is replaced with dental bridges, adjoining teeth are prepared for porcelain crowns to hold the prosthetic tooth in place.

During your first appointment at our Chattanooga office, a small amount of tooth structure will be removed from the teeth surrounding the gap to accommodate the crowns. An impression is then made and sent to the lab so the custom-made dental bridges can be fabricated. You will be fitted with a temporary bridge until your next visit, at which time the permanent dental bridges will be adjusted for comfort and cemented into place. Dental bridges generally last for eight to 10 years. They are durable, natural, and proven to make teeth strong.

Dental bridges can do more than fill in gaps, correct speaking and chewing problems, and increase strength when biting. When teeth drift, the change in your bite can result in a sore jaw, gum disease, and decay. Dental bridges prevent these serious health problems by improving bite and alignment.

If you are experiencing pain when chewing, strain when biting down, or difficulty in speaking due to misaligned or missing teeth, dental bridges might be the perfect option for you. Contact us in Chattanooga, Tennessee, today to find out more.

Dental Bonding

Dental bonding can quickly and flawlessly restore your smile to its natural shimmer by masking stained, chipped, or crooked teeth. During the dental bonding procedure, a thin coating of resin is applied over the damaged teeth and cured with a high-intensity light. The resin is then sculpted to match the rest of your teeth and finely polished for a glowing sheen. The dental bonding procedure usually takes about 30 minutes to an hour per tooth and generally does not require anesthesia.

There are several advantages to dental bonding. Dental bonding is one of the easiest and least expensive of cosmetic dentistry procedures and can usually be done in one office visit (unless several teeth are involved). In addition, only a small amount of tooth enamel needs to be removed, so more tooth structure stays intact. However, dental bonding will discolor and is easier to break, so you should consult with our cosmetic dentist before making a decision about having the procedure.

Dental bonding, which lasts for five to 10 years, can strengthen teeth and eliminate imperfections, such as stains, gaps, and chips. Contact our Chattanooga, Tennessee, office today to find out if dental bonding is right for you.

Full Mouth Restoration

Full-mouth restoration involves restoring the teeth, bite, and muscles back to a natural looking and youthful-feeling condition. With full mouth restoration, we can utilize a combination of cosmetic dentistry techniques, including porcelain veneers, porcelain crowns, dental bonding, and teeth whitening. Using computerized technology and an artistic eye, full mouth restoration may be the answer to many problems, such as heat sensitive teeth, sore jaw muscles, and recurring headaches.

During full mouth restoration, each tooth is restructured to achieve ideal bite. The process usually requires three visits to out Tennessee office. During the first visit, we use computer diagnostics to determine where your jaw muscles are the most comfortable. This allows us to make a full mouth restoration that will match the optimal position of your jaw. At your next visit, we will remove old dental work and prepare each tooth for the new restorations. Impressions will be sent to the lab, and you will be fitted with temporary restorations. During your final visit, the permanent restorations are placed, and you walk out of our office with an attractive, functional, and comfortable new smile.

If you have short, worn, chipped, or broken teeth, you may be an excellent candidate for full mouth restoration. In addition, you may be a candidate if you are experiencing any of the following conditions:

  • TMJ (temporomandibular joint syndrome)
  • Frequent headaches or migraines
  • Unexplained loose teeth
  • Worn, chipped, or cracked teeth
  • Dental restorations that frequently crack, chip, or break
  • Pain or soreness around my jaw joints
  • Pain in your teeth that moves around
  • Facial, neck, shoulder, and back pain
  • Clicking or grating sounds in your jaw joints
  • Limited jaw movement or locking jaw
  • Unexplained numbness in your fingers and arms
  • Unexplained congestion or stuffiness in your ears
  • Vertigo

Full mouth restoration can restore more than a healthy smile, it can restore self-esteem as well. If you think you may be a candidate for full mouth restoration, contact our Chattanooga, Tennessee, office today.

Instant Orthodontics

Have you always dreamed of having straight, white teeth, but don’t want to wait two or three years to achieve it? If you answered yes, instant orthodontics may be perfect for you. Instant orthodontics provides a natural, beautiful smile without the need for painful, unsightly metal braces. And, best of all, instant orthodontics can give you that gorgeous smile you dreamed of in as little as two visits!

Here at our Tennessee office, modern dental technology allows us to reshape uneven teeth and veneer them with high-tech ceramic. What instant orthodontics can do is absolutely amazing. During the instant orthodontics procedure, your teeth are reshaped and an impression is taken. The lab uses this impression to fabricate a wax model of how your new smile will look. You and our cosmetic dentist review the wax model and make necessary changes. Once you are happy with the look, the wax model is sent back to the lab and your new smile is created. You will be fitted with temporary veneers until your next visit, at which time the permanent porcelain veneers will be cemented to your teeth. The result will give the appearance and function of a symmetrical, natural smile.

It’s that easy! Imagine, a perfect smile in two office visits. What are you waiting for? Contact us in Tennessee today, and in as little as two weeks you can have the stunning smile you have always dreamed of!

The effectiveness of instant orthodontics depends on how crooked and crowded the teeth are to begin with; however, for many adults, instant orthodontics is a better option than traditional orthodontics.

DDS Weight Loss System

In today’s fast-paced society, many Americans eat so fast that there is no time to feel full until it is too late. As a result, they keep on eating, consuming more calories than needed. Our DDS Weight Loss System is a revolutionary appliance that helps you slow down, take smaller bites, and chew food longer. This appliance simply modifies your behavior, so you can still eat all of your favorite foods, just in smaller bites.

The DDS Weight Loss System is a custom-made appliance that is placed in the roof of your mouth before you eat. The appliance, which is similar to a retainer, limits the amount of food you can put into your mouth at one time. This gives you the chance to recognize your body’s satiety response, or the feeling of being full. Because the device teaches you to modify your behavior, you will eventually be able to eat without the system.

If you want to learn more about this exciting new method of weight loss, contact Shabo Dental Center & Spa in Chattanooga today. We will be glad to answer all of your questions or schedule a consultation.
